Accurate Background (Irvine, CA) sells account-managed screening programs by quote, mostly to large employers: 39 of its 50 most recent G2 reviewers work at companies with more than 1,000 employees. Those employers rate it well, 4.5 on average. The reasons they look elsewhere show up in the same reviews: support that routes through a general queue instead of a named rep, ETAs that slip without explanation, and a platform several reviewers call dated.

Its 50 most recent, posted between February 2025 and September 2026, average 1.08, and 49 of the 50 are one star. For comparison, Checkr's unprompted reviews average 1.4 and the candidates it invites rate it 4.7. The complaints repeat: checks that run for weeks, the same documents requested again, and offers lost while the check sat in process.

When to stay with Accurate
If your procurement team scores supplier diversity, Accurate's standing as the largest privately held, minority-owned screener is a credential the alternatives here can't match. If you have a named account manager who resolves issues for you, you already have what many of its G2 reviewers are asking for. In either case, put turnaround targets and escalation contacts in writing at renewal.
